Fashion is ever changing, but there are few rules that seem to have prevailed when it comes to what to wear and what not to wear. Though such rules may provide a great guide for choosing your outfit of the day, we advice you not to take these things seriously. In fact, who even made up these so-called ‘rules’? Here are a few myths that you should simply ignore.
Whoever said you couldn’t mix prints clearly had little idea on how to have some fun. From paisley and stripes to polka dots and leopard, mixing prints has been popular recently. With good reason, too. The details won’t only attract you some attention, but give a fun vibe that everyone will love.
Wearing Black and Navy
This ‘rule’ was originally made because it was thought that the colors just didn’t look good together. But that’s nonsense. Both black and navy blue are neutral colors, and neutrals go quite well together. Just add some textures and details here and there, and you should be good to go.
Always match your bag with your shoes
Admittedly, matching bag and shoes do look great, and give that sense of unity and sophistication. In saying that, it is also the 21st century, and we can get away with doing whatever we want with our bags and shoes. Matching looks great, but definitely not a necessity. Just as red heels may go with a red handbag, so can nude flats and a leopard print purse.
Finally, just because the Justin and Britney incident happened, does not mean that you will have a disaster every time you decide to wear all denim. Try out different shades, experiment, and be bold. Fashion is about fun, and definitely not just about following a bunch of rules!
